I write screenplays, tone of voice, brand campaigns and scripts. I’m based between London and South West France, with clients in both countries.
I spent years working as a journalist and then editor at consumer titles including Time Out, Elle, Grazia and The Times. Around the time fashion/lifestyle content became less about writing and more about taking pictures of yourself in front of an interesting wall, I ducked out.
Now I work with words in a different way- advising people like the BBC on Tone of Voice (and training their teams and major stakeholders), helping amazing directors speak to their audiences and finding ways for brands to say something new. I’ve worked with AI developers to engineer my Tone of Voice guidelines to support tools like Chat GPT, so that brands can have more confidence in their output. Put simply, my TOV guidelines make AI better at writing for your brand.
I work directly with brands, and with agencies and one to one with directors (my favourite). I’ve rewritten the National Portrait Gallery for its relaunch, helped progressive energy companies sound inspiring, helped venture capitalists sound more human, and made tech companies sound like the next big thing. I’ve ghost-written books for Terence Conran, I’ve written screenplays for Samuel L Jackson, but I’ve also written silly VOs and jingles for primetime radio about pot plants and oat milks.
I loved it all.
